Special Events

Join us for the Tenth Annual Daybreak “Race for LIFE 5K” as we come together to celebrate life and support the vital work of serving women, men, and their babies in our community. Whether you run, walk, or cheer from the sidelines, your participation helps make a lasting difference in the lives of families facing unexpected pregnancies. And as we continue this race to protect and save unborn lives, we are reminded that “The Joy of the Lord is Our Strength” (Nehemiah 8:10).

All proceeds from this event will support the mission and ministry of Daybreak LifeCare Center. The race will be officially timed by Timing, Inc. for both runners and walkers.

While fundraising is not required to participate, we encourage each race participant to invite others to join them in supporting this life-affirming work. Participants who raise sponsorship support will help transform this event into a significant fundraiser for Daybreak and the families we serve.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:

• Register for the race through the FundEasy link below (all participants must register).
FundEasy Link: COMING SOON!
Once the webpage opens, click the “Participate” button in the top right corner.

• During registration, check the box that says “I want to help fundraise” to become a Daybreak 5K Ambassador.

• Share your personal giving page link with family, friends, churches, coworkers, and others who would like to sponsor your participation.

The pre-registration deadline is September 30. After that date, registration will increase to $50 per individual runner/walker.

IT’S THAT EASY!

We have set an ambitious goal of $30,000 for this year’s Race for LIFE 5K. Registration fees alone will not make that possible, so we are trusting God to provide through both Event Sponsors and Participant Sponsors.

If you are a business owner, head of an organization, church leader, family, or individual with a heart for protecting unborn lives and supporting families in our community, would you consider becoming an Event Sponsor? We offer several sponsorship levels and would be honored to recognize your business, organization, church, or family on our promotional materials and event communications.

To become a 5K sponsor, please complete the form below the “Important Details” table. A Daybreak representative will follow up with additional sponsorship information.

You may also choose to sponsor a race participant directly. While registration fees help cover event costs, sponsorships provide the financial support needed to further Daybreak’s ministry throughout the year.

WILL YOU HELP US MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

Thank you for joining us for the Ninth Annual Daybreak “Race for LIFE 5K”!!

See you October 3, 2026 – our next 5K Run/Walk!

Supporting mothers who choose life for their babies involves a lot of resources, including a lot of diapers! And you can help us re-stock our diaper supply by way of a friendly competition between the Gamecock and Tiger fans of our donor base. It’s called “Daybreak’s 4th Annual Diaper Bowl: Dollars for Diapers” and runs through midnight on November 30. The Gamecocks have won the first two Daybreak Diaper Bowls, giving us the means to purchase EveryLife diapers for our clients. Why EveryLife diapers? Here’s why:

EveryLife is an unapologetically Christian company that does not support organizations that destroy innocent life. Every other major diaper manufacturer, including Huggies and Pampers, includes coverage for abortions in their employee benefits plans, in addition to direct support for Planned Parenthood. EveryLife does not, and that is a company we love to support!

If you would like to join in this friendly competition, there are two ways you can do so:
1. Go to https://www.kindridgiving.com/App/Giving/daybreakministries. The webpage will open to the “One-time” giving tab. Then go to the “Fund” dropdown box and choose either “Gamecock Diapers” or “Tiger Diapers” to make your donation.
2. You can simply write a check to Daybreak and include your team of choice “Gamecock Diapers” or “Tiger Diapers” on the memo line of the check. And then mail your check to: Daybreak LifeCare Center, 1601 St. Julian Place, Columbia, SC 29204.

We will be providing statuses along the way on social media to keep you in the loop, and we will announce the winner after November 30! Of course, the real winners will be our clients, who will have access to a fresh supply of diapers from a pro-life manufacturer whose creed is consistent with its product.

As always, we thank you in advance for your support in this life-affirming, life-changing ministry.

Thanks to all of those who participated in “Daybreak’s 3rd Annual Diaper Bowl” in 2025! The Gamecocks were victorious again with $593, giving them a three-peat! The Tigers were a “whisker” away from winning, but in the end came up “short-pawed” with $561.The biggest winners, though, are our clients who will receive EveryLife diapers for their babies each month.

Being pro life means helping to meet the ongoing needs of moms and dads in our community. Supplying them with much-needed supplies, like diapers, is a great way for us to do this! Thanks again!

Thank you to everyone who attended, sponsored, supported, and prayed for Daybreak’s 2026 Spring Dinner, “The Joy of the Lord is Our Strength”. Your generosity and encouragement were a tremendous blessing and helped make the evening both meaningful and impactful as we celebrated all God is doing through Daybreak’s ministry.

And as we look ahead, please mark your calendar for Daybreak’s 2027 Spring Dinner on Thursday, April 22, 2027, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at USC’s Pastides Alumni Center in Columbia, South Carolina. We are honored to welcome Robert P. George as our keynote speaker. Dr. George serves on the executive board of advisors for the Center for American Civic Leadership and Public Discourse at USC, launched in July 2025. To learn more about him, please visit Robert P. George.

Each year, Daybreak’s Spring Dinner brings together friends, churches, businesses, and community partners for an inspiring evening celebrating how God is at work through Daybreak’s ministry to women and men facing unexpected pregnancies, and in support of mothers, fathers, and their babies throughout the Midlands.

Guests will hear powerful client testimonies, meaningful ministry updates, and stories of hope and transformation as we reflect on the lives impacted through Daybreak’s Christ-centered care and compassionate support.

There will again be opportunities for churches, businesses, and groups of friends to sponsor tables and enjoy the evening together. Sponsorship details and registration information will be announced in the coming months.

We look forward to gathering again in 2027 for another meaningful evening together.
