Please join us once again for Daybreak LifeCare Center’s annual Spring Dinner on Thursday, May 7th, at Seawell’s in downtown Columbia, SC from 6:00 to 8:00pm. This year’s theme is “The Joy of the Lord is Our Strength” and will prompt an evening filled with impactful client and volunteer testimonials, a joyful celebration of Daybreak’s 43 years of service to Columbia, and will culminate with a keynote address featuring Tonya Bailey Jones (see her bio below).
Tonya will present, “The Joy of Serving: Loving Without Conditions, Supporting Without Judgment”, sharing her personal story of God’s love and redemption.
At Daybreak’s impactful annual event, there will be 8-seat tables available to sponsor by churches, businesses or groups of friends to enjoy the evening together. There are 5 levels of table sponsorship: TABLE SPONSOR, BRONZE SPONSOR, SILVER SPONSOR, GOLD SPONSOR, PLATINUM SPONSOR (see details below). We are also offering an individual registration option for $65/person.

Tonya Bailey Jones is a God-fearing wife, mother, grandmother, author, and transformational speaker. She is a retired Naval Officer with numerous awards and commendations. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science Degree in Nursing Education from Liberty University. With a successful career and a plethora of accolades, many thought Tonya’s life was a delight. However, it was anything but. Tonya’s professional success was birthed throughout decades of darkness, depression and despair and shrouded in shame and regret. When God gave Tonya the vision of speaking on stages, she was excited and ready with thoughts of motivating women to rise to success from meager beginnings.
Through years of trepidation, apprehension and lots of self-discovery and repentance, Tonya is elated to now say she took the leap to tell the story God truly wanted her to tell. As the creator and host of Beauty Beyond the Ashes Podcast with Tonya B. Jones and the author of Pearls in the Pews: Bringing Post-Abortion Healing to the Church(ed) book and accompanying companion guide, Tonya is telling her story of self-forgiveness, restoration, and rediscovery and reaching women throughout the world with the love of God. Known as “the lady with the soothing, compassionate voice who makes you want to lean in and chat,” she encourages women of faith to live beyond the guilt, shame and regret of their past choices and live in the fullness of who God created them to be.

Supporting mothers who choose life for their babies involves a lot of resources, including a lot of diapers! And you can help us re-stock our diaper supply by way of a friendly competition between the Gamecock and Tiger fans of our donor base. It’s called “Daybreak’s 3rd Annual Diaper Bowl: Dollars for Diapers” and runs through midnight on November 30. The Gamecocks have won the first two Daybreak Diaper Bowls, giving us the means to purchase EveryLife diapers for our clients. Why EveryLife diapers? Here’s why:
EveryLife is an unapologetically Christian company that does not support organizations that destroy innocent life. Every other major diaper manufacturer, including Huggies and Pampers, includes coverage for abortions in their employee benefits plans, in addition to direct support for Planned Parenthood. EveryLife does not, and that is a company we love to support!
If you would like to join in this friendly competition, there are two ways you can do so:
1. Go to https://www.kindridgiving.com/App/Giving/daybreakministries. The webpage will open to the “One-time” giving tab. Then go to the “Fund” dropdown box and choose either “Gamecock Diapers” or “Tiger Diapers” to make your donation.
2. You can simply write a check to Daybreak and include your team of choice “Gamecock Diapers” or “Tiger Diapers” on the memo line of the check. And then mail your check to: Daybreak LifeCare Center, 1601 St. Julian Place, Columbia, SC 29204.
We will be providing statuses along the way on social media to keep you in the loop, and we will announce the winner after November 30! Of course, the real winners will be our clients, who will have access to a fresh supply of diapers from a pro-life manufacturer whose creed is consistent with its product.

Join us for the Ninth Annual Daybreak “Race for LIFE 5K”. It’s a “new day” in the pro-life battle against abortion as we continue to “race” to save unborn lives! All profits from this event will go to support the mission and vision of Daybreak. The race will be officially timed by Timing, Inc. for both walkers and runners.
It is NOT a requirement to participate, but we would love to have race participants obtain sponsors to join with them in supporting this event! Race participants securing sponsor support will help turn this event into a major fundraiser for our ministry!
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:
- Register through the FundEasy link for the race (ALL participants must register) FundEasy Link: https://secure.fundeasy.com/ministrysync/event/?e=30733 When that webpage opens, click on the “Participate” button at the top right.
- Check the “I want to help fundraise” box during registration to let us know that YOU will be a Daybreak 5K Ambassador.
- Send your giving website link to those who will be sponsoring you so they can give online!
- Pre-registration deadline is October 1, after which the price will go to $50/individual runner/walker.

We have set an ambitious goal of $50,000 for this event, which we know we won’t make through modest registration fees. We will need both Event Sponsors and Participant Sponsors to make this goal.
